This is a great grain-free breakfast option because it tastes great and takes little to no effort! It’s just like granola or cereal but doesn’t require any baking or contain any artificial sweeteners or questionable ingredients.
I’d recommend mixing up a big batch (without the berries of course) and keeping it in a jar in your pantry for a quick breakfast on busy mornings. Remember to buy organic almonds because they tend to be highly sprayed.
Also purchase ground flaxseeds over whole because your body cannot digest the whole seeds. Hemp seeds are a complete protein, meaning they contain all of the essential amino options (a great protein source- especially for vegetarians and vegans!)
Ingredients:
2 Tbsp organic almonds, chopped
2 Tbsp ground hemp seeds
2 Tbsp dried, shredded, unsweetened coconut flakes
1 Tbsp ground flaxseed
When serving:
~1/2 cup organic almond or coconut milk
~ 1/2 cup frozen wild blueberries blueberries
~ 1/2 or 1 whole sliced banana
Directions:
1. Combine the dry ingredients in a cereal bowl.
2. Add your berries, and sliced banana.
3. Cover with almond milk and enjoy!
