I’ve been hearing so much about bee pollen lately I had to buy some and try it for myself. It smells sweet just like honey and is easy to add to anything just as you would chia or flaxseed. Labeled as a “superfood” bee pollen is filled with vitamins, minerals, proteins, carbs, lipids and more.
Here’s what it has:
-Antioxidants
-Protein (all 8 essential amino acids)
-B vitamins (especially B5)
-Vitamin A
-Vitamin C
-Vitamin D
-Vitamin E
-Vitamin K
-Iron
-Zinc
-Copper
-Magnesium
*Note: If you have seasonal allergies you may be highly allergic to bee pollen. Start with just a 1/2 tsp at a time.
I made this smoothie this morning for breakfast, all ingredients are approximations feel free to adjust to your liking!
Ingredients:
1 frozen banana
1 fresh banana
1 cup of Wyman’s wild blueberries (frozen)
~1 cup non-dairy milk of choice, just enough liquid to help the ingredients blend
1/2 tsp bee pollen
~1/2 tsp fresh grated ginger
a few dashes of turmeric
Add all ingredients to blender. Blend until smooth, add more milk as needed. Enjoy!
